If We Ran Social for Our Favorite Landscape Resorts…
How we'd optimize the social media presence of our favorite landscape resorts to help them drive more bookings.
The US is experiencing an unprecedented boom in experiential hospitality.
Landscape resorts nestled in dramatic settings are redefining luxury travel, creating destinations that are as much about the place as the property itself.
And while these properties are architectural and hospitality marvels, many haven't fully unlocked the potential of social media to reach the modern traveler.
This week, we're analyzing five of my favorite landscape resorts across America.
We'll break down what makes each property exceptional, examine their current social presence, and share exactly what we would implement to elevate their digital strategy.
These insights apply whether you're managing a boutique hotel or a luxury resort as social media has become the great equalizer in hospitality.
Let’s dive in…
Post Ranch Inn (Big Sur, California)
Perched 1,200 feet above the Pacific Ocean along California's stunning Big Sur coastline, Post Ranch Inn is the epitome of dramatic luxury.
Wood-and-glass cliffside accommodations. Outdoor stainless-steel hot tubs. Panoramic ocean views from every angle.
This adults-only retreat has mastered the art of immersing guests in nature while wrapping them in sophisticated comfort.
Current Social Stats:
Only 18 reels out of 704 posts (2.6% of posts)
230,000+ total views
A handful of influencer collaborations
What We'd Improve:
First, we'd dramatically increase their reel production. At Oasi, we aim for 80% of content to be video-based. Why? That's where discovery happens in 2025.
Most travelers spend 99% of their time watching video content, not scrolling static images.
We'd also double down on influencer collaborations.
Being drivable from San Francisco gives them access to countless California-based creators with followers who have substantial disposable income.
The right partnerships would explode their visibility overnight.
Amangiri (Canyon Point, Utah)
Amangiri is hands-down one of the top landscape resorts in the US.
This modernist masterpiece blends seamlessly into Utah's dramatic desert landscape. Its swimming pool wraps around an ancient rock formation as the centerpiece of the property.
With minimalist suites featuring private plunge pools and floor-to-ceiling windows framing desert views, it's no wonder they've built a substantial following.
Current Social Stats:
Only 47 reels out of 872 posts (5.4% of posts)
2,300,000+ total views
Best reel: 368,000+ views
What We'd Improve:
The frequency of their reel posting is the first thing we'd tackle. Currently averaging just 1-2 reels monthly, we'd push that to 2-3 weekly at minimum.
We'd also lean heavily into what's already working in their most viral content: epic drone shots showcasing the resort nestled in rock formations.
And their biggest missed opportunity? Camp Sarika.
These tented units are criminally underutilized on social. Luxury travelers are actively seeking unique accommodations, and this offering could set them apart from other desert resorts.
Sheldon Chalet (Denali National Park, Alaska)
This ultra-remote luxury lodge sits perched on top of a mountain surrounded by glaciers, in the middle of Denali National Park, and only accessible by helicopter.
With just five rooms for a maximum of 10 guests, it offers complete isolation amidst some of the most dramatic mountain views on Earth.
Current Social Stats:
254 reels out of 811 posts (31.3% of posts)
822,000+ total views
Best Reel: 104,000+ views
3,200+ views per reel (average)
Engagement rate: 1.71%
What We'd Improve:
We'd focus on partnerships with larger travel influencers.
Their most successful post was a collaboration with an influencer who has 630,000+ followers.
But the cost of hosting influencers is substantial–private helicopter access, full staff, the works.
The solution? Host multiple influencers at once, or combine influencer visits with professional videography shoots to maximize the investment.
This strategy needs to be systemized to justify the expense.
We'd also optimize their reel structure to showcase more of the complete experience in each video, rather than focusing on isolated aspects of the stay like they currently do.
The final piece? Upgrading their video quality. When you're capturing such a picturesque location, your footage needs to match the setting.
The Green O (at The Resort at Paws Up, Montana)
This adults-only enclave within the Paws Up resort offers Instagram-worthy "hauses" nestled in a Montana forest.
With Michelin-recognized dining and private hot tubs overlooking pristine wilderness, it combines rugged adventure with sophisticated luxury.
Current Social Stats:
208 reels out of 1,163 posts (17.9%)
777,000+ total views
51,800+ views on their best reel
3,700+ average views per reel
Under 200 likes on most posts (minimal engagement)
What We'd Improve:
The Green O's current content feels like traditional TV commercials rather than engaging social media. That's a huge missed opportunity.
We'd implement videography specifically shot for social, focusing on authentic moments that resonate with today's travelers.
Next, their on-screen text needs optimization to boost viewer retention.
We'd use our proven framework to keep viewers watching to the end–helping prompt the algorithm to show the content to more people and increase awareness.
Enchantment Resort (Sedona, Arizona)
Nestled among Sedona's iconic red rocks in Boynton Canyon, Enchantment Resort offers 70 acres of Southwestern luxury and access to the world-renowned Mii Amo spa.
With adobe-style casitas featuring beehive fireplaces and private decks overlooking breathtaking landscapes, it's a spiritual sanctuary in one of America's most beautiful settings.
Current Social Stats:
210 reels out of 1,623 posts (12.9%)
Best Performing Reel: 235,000+ views
Total Views: 1,650,000+ views
Average views per reel: 7,800+ views
What We'd Improve:
With hundreds of employees, Enchantment has an incredible resource for authentic content creation.
We'd tap into this by featuring staff stories, behind-the-scenes moments, and real reactions that create genuine connections with viewers.
This person-to-person approach builds trust, drives bookings, and naturally creates brand loyalty.
We'd also streamline their booking funnel.
Currently, the link in their bio doesn’t bring you directly to their booking page. This creates unnecessary friction and confusion in the customer booking journey.
Links pointing directly to their booking pages would immediately boost conversion.
There’s a clear pattern–
Even these world-class properties are leaving enormous opportunities on the table with their social media.
This leaves the door wide open to disrupt the future of guest acquisition. And it all starts with the right social strategy.
